How it works

B2B Studio doesn't stream a mix. It sends the records and the control signals.

When your partner loads a track, it travels to your computer ahead of the needle. Every fader move, cue and loop is a control signal stamped with its beat. Your computer plays their record on that beat.

Both computers play the same records, at the same place, on the same clock. Your partner hears exactly what you hear, in perfect quality.

What it's like to play

You open a room

Your partner joins from anywhere. The host seats the DJs — up to four, on two or four decks. Everyone else listens.

You both load your own records

Plug in your USB or open your library. Your partner does the same. Each record travels to the other booth before it plays and is never saved there.

You mix like you're in the same booth

Press SYNC and the records lock together on every computer at once. Hot cues, loops, beat jumps and effects land on the beat for everyone.

The crowd watches live

A public room has a live page for phones: the desk itself, drawn live in time with the music, the DJs' voices and cameras, and one chat.

The same gear as the club. Every knob.

Every unit is an emulation of a specific piece of flagship hardware, built from the real thing and its manual. Every knob and fader's curve emulated with precision.

USB & rekordbox library compatible

Plug in your rekordbox USB. The booth reads it like a player: playlists, tag list, hot cues, memory cues, beat grids, colours and keys. rekordbox XML or a folder of files works the same way.

Unanalysed tracks are analysed on load: tempo, beat grid, key, waveform. MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF, FLAC and OGG. Nothing is uploaded.

Studio-quality sound, made on your machine.

Your machine makes the sound

Every record in the room is decoded and mixed on your own computer, at your interface's sample rate. Your partner's records reach you in perfect quality.

Latency is chosen for your rig

The audio buffer is set for your machine, 6 to 32 milliseconds, every time you start.

Cue in your headphones

Cue to a second output or interface, master to the mains. The room never hears your cue.

Record the set

The master mix to WAV or MP3 on your disk as you play. The cue stays out of it.

Talk to your partner. Show your face.

Push to talk

Hold TALK and speak. Noise and echo handled. If your set is loud, your own speakers dip while you hold the key; nobody else's audio changes.

Cameras on the platter

Your face on the jog wheel, or floating where you drag it. In a public room the crowd sees it too.

Any controller

Press MIDI, click a control on the screen, move the knob on your hardware. Mappings are saved and carry between browser and desktop app.

Where it runs

Any browser on a Mac or Windows machine. USB drives open in Chrome and in the app; the rekordbox library is app only. Desktop apps for Mac and Windows with an offline mode. Phones open the crowd page, iPhone and Android, no app needed.

Your music never leaves your machine

  • Your files stay yours.Read from your disk, sent only to your room. Never stored by us.
  • Your library stays yours.Read in the browser, kept there. We never see it.
  • The room disappears when it ends.In memory while you play, gone when the last person leaves. Never written down.

Questions DJs ask

Is the sound streamed from my partner's computer?

No. The record travels to your booth ahead of the needle and your own computer plays it on the room clock.

How tight is the sync between two cities?

Tighter than the ear can tell. One clock, SYNC on every machine at once, every control action on the beat it was made on. Distance changes nothing.

Can I use my rekordbox USB?

Yes. Playlists, tag list, hot cues, memory cues, grids, colours and keys. XML and folders too. Nothing is uploaded.

What formats can I play?

MP3, AAC / M4A, WAV, AIFF, FLAC and OGG.

Does it work with my controller?

Any MIDI controller. Press MIDI, click a control, move the knob.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Any browser on a computer is enough. USB drives open in Chrome and in the app; the desktop apps for Mac and Windows add an offline mode and read the rekordbox library.

Can people watch the set?

Yes. A public room has a live page any phone can open: the desk drawn live in time with the music, the DJs' voices and cameras, one chat.

Is this meant to replace club hardware?

No. It's built for the studio and for playing with other DJs from home. Every unit is an emulation of real hardware and links to where the real thing is sold.
